Part of our Thriving at Work courses.
Does the unpredictability of consulting leave you lacking in confidence or do feel like you need to have an answer for every client question? Are you new to consulting? Perhaps you have had less opportunity to practise and shadow due to the pandemic? Do you find it difficult having conversations with clients around money or with managers about your nurse clinic ideas? Consulting can be tiring, pressurised and unpredictable. The changing landscape of the profession over the past couple of years has meant nurse consults are becoming more important to some veterinary businesses. Managing your clients’ expectations as well as your own can be difficult, however, having the confidence to make suggestions, communicate assertively with clients and tackle challenging situations will help you feel empowered and enable you to thrive in your role as a consulting nurse. This programme aims to build your confidence in your management, approach and delivery of consultations and trust in your ability to navigate your own challenges confidently. It also includes hands on, practical training in the communication skills and techniques you need to feel more comfortable and confident during your consults. Delivered as a modular, online programme the course will be facilitated by expert coaches with first hand nurse consultation experience. It combines online elements including videos, reflective exercises and tools along with group coaching sessions and interactive experiential learning involving simulated clients (played by educational role players) to support you to practise and embed the skills learned.
